Nils Blommér's "The Water-Sprite and Ägir's Daughters" (Näcken och Ägirs döttrar) is a beautiful piece of wall art created in 1850. This painting is a prime example of Romanticism and Neo-Romanticism, depicting a moonlit night where the sea god Ägir's daughters float on the waves surrounding the Water Sprite, who is playing the harp. The background features the ruins of Stegeborg Castle, adding to the mystical and folklore-inspired atmosphere.

The production of this artwork involved Blommér's deep appreciation for Swedish folk songs and Norse mythology, which heavily influenced his work. He studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts and later in Paris under Léon Cogniet, which helped refine his artistic skills.
